Dollar General store in Georgia hit by retail theft on Christmas Eve

GEORGIA — A retail theft occurred at the Dollar General store located at 864 Ethan Allen Hwy on Christmas Eve, prompting an investigation by the Vermont State Police.

The incident was reported at approximately 8:36 p.m. by an employee who witnessed the theft.

The suspect, a white female standing about 5 feet tall with brown hair, was caught on surveillance footage.

She was seen wearing glasses, a white hat, a black coat, and maroon shoes, leaving the store with stolen merchandise.

After committing the theft, the woman fled the scene in a silver 2009 Ford Fusion with Vermont registration KTS575.

Images from the store’s surveillance system showing both the suspect and the vehicle have been released to aid in the investigation.

Authorities are seeking assistance from the public.
