WEST HAVEN — A man suspected of robbing a local massage parlor and sexually assaulting an employee has been charged following a months-long investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies.
On Aug. 18, a 911 call alerted West Haven police to an armed robbery at a massage parlor.
The lone employee reported that a man forced his way inside, restrained her, and threatened her with scissors before stealing two cell phones and $600 cash.
She also told officers she was sexually assaulted during the incident.
The suspect was described as a heavyset black male with a beard.
Witnesses in the vicinity provided additional details, including the sighting of a gray sedan with New York plates.
After extensive collaboration with federal, state, and local authorities, detectives identified 42-year-old Terrell Meynard of Stamford as the primary suspect, linking him to similar crimes in three other Connecticut towns.
Meynard, who was already imprisoned on an unrelated first-degree robbery charge, was arrested at Milford Superior Court on Dec. 19.
He now faces charges including first-degree robbery, second-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree sexual assault, fourth-degree larceny, and first-degree unlawful restraint.
