CAMBRIDGE — A two-car collision on VT Route 15 near Mansfield Ave on Dec. 23 resulted in extensive damage to one vehicle and minor damage to another, with no injuries reported, according to Vermont State Police.
Authorities say the incident occurred around 4:50 p.m. when Noah Bocash, 27, of Johnson, was driving a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta.
Bocash was reportedly traveling over the speed limit and failed to adjust to slowed traffic ahead, resulting in a rear-end collision with a 2016 Ford F-150 operated by Sheldon Leland, 32, of Orleans.
The crash caused extensive damage to the front end of Bocash’s Jetta, while Leland’s F-150 sustained minor damage to the rear.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and no injuries were reported at the scene.
Following the accident, Bocash was issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for following too closely with an accident resulting, carrying a waiver penalty of $220 and four points on his driving record, pursuant to Title 23 VSA 1039.
Traffic on VT Route 15 was affected for a short duration while troopers conducted their investigation and the vehicles were removed from the scene.
The road conditions were wet at the time of the accident, but the weather was clear.
