BRIDGEWATER — A single vehicle accident on Route 4 led to minor injuries for a New Hampshire woman on Dec. 23.
Nancy Calder, 2020 Honda Civic driver from Hopkinton, NH, was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center after her car rolled over and ended upside down in a ditch just off the roadway.
The Vermont State Police responded to the scene around 4:16 p.m., finding the vehicle totaled but the driver’s injuries minor.
Calder was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident, which occurred near Bridgewater Hill Rd.
The weather was clear and road conditions were dry, which has puzzled authorities as to the cause of the mishap.
Traffic on Route 4 was affected for a short period as emergency crews, including Bridgewater Fire Department and Windsor County Sheriff, worked to clear the scene.
The road was reduced to one lane temporarily until Calder’s vehicle was removed.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
