RUTLAND — A two-vehicle collision occurred on Dec. 23 near the Sunoco gas station on US RT 7 S, resulting in moderate damage to both vehicles involved and one injury.
At 9:51 a.m., Vermont State Police from the Rutland Barracks responded to the crash scene.
The investigation revealed that Jeffrey Wood, 35, from Castleton, was driving his 2019 Toyota Tacoma and attempting to turn left onto US RT 7 from the Sunoco parking lot when he collided with a northbound 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt, operated by Jeremiah Sanderson, 27, from Wallingford.
The Tacoma sustained moderate damage to the grill and front bumper, while the Cobalt suffered damage to the right fender and headlight.
Wood was wearing a seatbelt and reported no injuries.
Sanderson, also wearing a seatbelt, reported lower back pain but was not transported to a hospital.
Authorities noted that the road conditions were dry and the weather was cloudy at the time of the accident.
