BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department arrested 20-year-old Dionte Wall on firearm charges late Friday night in Dorchester after responding to a report of a person with a gun.
At about 10:55 p.m., officers assigned to District C-11 were dispatched to the vicinity of 10 Parkman Street where two individuals were spotted walking away from the area.
As police approached, the suspects split and attempted to leave in different directions.
Both were swiftly detained and subjected to a frisk.
Aware of the recent snowfall, the officers noticed fresh footprints leading to bushes between two houses, which they traced back to one of the suspects.
A Rockland USA firearm with one round in the chamber and thirteen in the magazine was found discarded nearby.
Wall was handcuffed and taken into custody.
Wall faces charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device.
He is scheduled for arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
