BRISTOL — A local man has been accused of home improvement fraud, Vermont State Police reported Wednesday.

Michael Kenyon, 46, of Vergennes, was issued a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court on Jan. 27, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. The charge stems from an incident involving Peter Sutherland, 73, of Bristol.

Authorities say Kenyon, who was contracted through Valley Pool and Spa Service LLC, received payment upfront for pool equipment and installation services that were never provided.

After Sutherland canceled the request and sought a refund, Kenyon allegedly failed to reimburse the funds or complete the contracted work.

The Vermont State Police were notified of the situation on Nov. 20, 2024, following several unsuccessful attempts by Sutherland to recover his money.

Kenyon’s failure to fulfill the contract or issue a refund led to the fraud charge.

The case remains under investigation as the court date approaches.
