Norwalk home invasion suspect arrested

NORWALK — A man wanted for a violent home invasion was apprehended in Gloversville, New York, by U.S.

Marshals and returned to Norwalk by local detectives, police said Monday.

Christian Chavez-Sosa, 31, of Norwalk, was arrested on Dec. 16 after being located by authorities in New York.

He is facing charges of home invasion, second-degree strangulation, three counts of violating a protective order, and first-degree burglary.

According to Norwalk Police, the home invasion occurred on Oct. 30, when Chavez-Sosa allegedly broke into the victim’s home, destroyed property, and later returned to terrorize the victim again.

While the victim was in bed with their child, Chavez-Sosa reportedly strangled the victim, causing them to lose breath.

The assault was interrupted when another person entered the room, prompting Chavez-Sosa to flee the scene.

Additionally, on Nov. 4, Chavez-Sosa allegedly followed and harassed the same victim, making obscene gestures from his vehicle, which was a violation of the no-contact order of protection.

Following his arrest, Chavez-Sosa was transported back to Norwalk Police Headquarters.

His bond has been set at $300,000 for the home invasion incident and an additional $50,000 for the third violation of the protective order.

Chavez-Sosa is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 23.
