Boston police arrest ‘Most Wanted’ suspect after Newbury Street shoplifting incident

BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department apprehended a suspect from their Most Wanted list on Friday, December 20, after responding to a report of a larceny in progress at 206 Newbury Street.

At about 7:44 p.m., officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) were dispatched following a call about the theft.

The police operations team provided a description of the suspect, subsequently identified as Erin Shruhan, 28, of Boston.

After locating Shruhan, a foot chase ensued before officers were able to place her in handcuffs.

Shruhan faces charges of shoplifting and resisting arrest.

Moreover, she was wanted on an outstanding warrant from South Boston District Court related to charges of Assault to Murder and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

The arrest was significant as Shruhan had been featured on the BPD Most Wanted List.

She is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
