CALAIS — A Barre man faces his fifth DUI charge after crashing his vehicle on Route 14, state police said.
Allen Benjamin, 59, was arrested Friday at 3:53 p.m. following a single-vehicle crash in Calais, according to Vermont State Police.
Troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to the scene and determined Benjamin had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, police said.
Benjamin was taken to the Berlin Barracks for processing.
During the investigation, troopers discovered he had an active arrest warrant.
He was subsequently lodged at the Northeast Correctional Facility for lack of $500 bail on the warrant.
Benjamin faces charges of driving under the influence, fifth offense.
His arraignment details were not immediately available.
