Rhode Island troopers make multiple arrests in separate incidents

PROVIDENCE — Troopers from the Scituate Barracks conducted a series of arrests on Dec. 18 following traffic stops and a vehicle crash.

At 2:44 p.m., troopers arrested Pedro Hernandez, 42, of Warwick, RI, on a Superior Court bench warrant for failing to appear for a pre-trial conference on an original charge of domestic simple assault from Providence Superior Court.

The arrest occurred after a vehicle stop on Broadway Street in Providence.

Hernandez was processed at Headquarters and later taken to the ACI-Men’s Intake.

Shortly after, at 2:53 p.m., Jayven Montas, 18, of Providence, was arrested for possession of over two ounces of marijuana.

This arrest followed a vehicle stop on Killingly Street in Johnston.

Montas was processed at the State Headquarters and released with a Sixth District Court date set by a Justice of the Peace.

Later in the evening, at 6:22 p.m., Loren Freemer, 35, of Westerly, was arrested for driving under the influence of liquor with a B.A.C. between .10 to .15.

The arrest was the result of a car crash on Route 295 North in Cranston and subsequent investigation.

Freemer was processed at the State Police Headquarters, arraigned, and released with a future Third District Court date.
