BOSTON — Boston police arrested a 34-year-old man early Wednesday on multiple larceny charges after responding to reports of package thefts in South Boston.
Officers from District C-6 apprehended Derek Kuzava of Boston around 2:30 a.m. near I Street and E Fourth Street.
Police had received reports of suspects stealing packages in the area.
Authorities located a group matching the suspects’ description on E Eighth Street.
As officers approached, they observed one individual attempt to discard an item behind a vehicle.
Police found an open package not addressed to the suspect, containing clothing items with tags still attached.
Further investigation led to the recovery of additional stolen items from Kuzava.
Kuzava was charged with larceny from a building and receiving stolen property.
Officers also discovered he had two outstanding warrants for larceny over $1,200, breaking and entering at night for a felony, and possession of a Class A substance.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
