Needham police log details incidents, summonses

NEEDHAM — The Needham Police Department released its log of incidents and summonses for Dec. 9-15, 2024.

Notable events include:

On Dec. 11 at 5 a.m., officers responded to a major water main break at Chestnut and Junction streets, assisting with traffic control.

On Dec. 12 at 7 p.m., police took a report of a package theft on Great Plain Avenue.

The incident is under investigation.

Multiple summonses were issued on Dec. 13 and 14 for unregistered and uninsured motor vehicles during overnight parking enforcement on Second Avenue.

On Dec. 15 at 9:30 a.m., a traffic stop on Highland Avenue resulted in a 30-year-old Lowell man being summonsed for operating an uninsured vehicle with a revoked registration.

Also on Dec. 15 at 10:31 a.m., officers responded to Cutler Park for a suspicious device, which was collected by the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad for destruction.

The log included reports of disturbances, suspicious activity, fraud, and minor thefts.

No arrests were reported during this period.
