FALL RIVER — A 73-year-old woman who was the subject of a Silver Alert was found safe early Tuesday in Fall River, police said.
Officer Robson Pires discovered Maria Scorpio of Uxbridge in an SUV on Father Devalles Boulevard at 12:04 a.m. while conducting a routine business check.
Pires found Scorpio’s presence unusual and ran a query through the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
The query revealed that Scorpio was the subject of a Silver Alert issued by the Uxbridge Police Department and Massachusetts State Police.
She had last been seen at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 18.
When contacted by Officer Pires, Scorpio appeared to be in a confused state, according to police.
Pires notified Scorpio’s family of her location and arranged for a reunion.
Scorpio had been missing for over 13 hours before she was found.
The Fall River Police Department commended Officer Pires for his attentiveness in locating the missing woman.
