RUTLAND — Vermont State Police have arrested a Castleton man following an investigation into allegations of lewd conduct with a minor and reckless vehicle operation.
Craig H. Osgood, 45, was taken into custody after a complaint was filed alleging that he had engaged in inappropriate conduct with a teenage girl while she was a passenger in his vehicle.
The complaint further stated that Osgood operated the vehicle in a careless and negligent way, causing concern for the safety of three underage passengers.
The criminal division of the Vermont State Police looked into the allegations and found probable cause to believe that Osgood had not only driven in a manner that endangered his passengers, but also committed a lewd or lascivious act upon a child under 16 years old.
Osgood is currently facing charges of Lewd/Lascivious Conduct with a Minor, Reckless Endangerment, and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
