SMITHFIELD — A two-vehicle collision on Putnam Pike claimed the life of a 20-year-old man from North Attleboro, Massachusetts, and left two others injured on Dec. 16.
At around 5:35 p.m., Smithfield Police and Fire Department units responded to the crash at 777 Putnam Pike.
The young man was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital with critical injuries but unfortunately died shortly after arrival.
The driver and a juvenile passenger from the second vehicle were also transported to Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital, respectively, to treat their injuries.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident and any factors that may have contributed to the tragic event.
