Two-vehicle crash in Putney leads to DUI-Drugs arrest

PUTNEY — A collision involving two vehicles on Bellows Falls Road near River Road South resulted in no injuries but led to an arrest for DUI-Drugs and possession of Fentanyl, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 10:05 a.m. when a 2024 Subaru Solterra, driven by Dalton P.

Kissell, 34, of Putney, veered over the centerline and struck a 2010 Toyota Tacoma operated by Edward L. Dunk, 76, of Walpole, New Hampshire.

Both vehicles were totaled, yet all parties involved, including Dunk’s passenger, Diana D. Tanudjaja, 60, also from Walpole, were wearing seatbelts and escaped injury.

Vermont State Police troopers from the Westminster Barracks responded to the scene and determined Kissell was at fault.

Following the initial investigation, Kissell was arrested and taken to the Westminster Barracks for processing.

Kissell faces charges of driving under the influence of drugs and possession of Fentanyl.

He was released on citation and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Windham County, Criminal Division on Feb. 4 to answer to the charges.
