Providence man arrested for forgery, another for receiving stolen goods

PROVIDENCE — Two Providence men were arrested on separate charges Sunday afternoon following motor vehicle stops by Rhode Island State Police, authorities said.

At 3:39 p.m., troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks arrested Richard Hernandez, 32, of 733 Admiral Street, for forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates.

The arrest occurred on Silver Spring Street after a routine traffic stop.

Hernandez was processed at the barracks, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released pending a future arraignment date in Sixth Division District Court.

Shortly after, at 4:22 p.m., troopers apprehended Ibrahim Kuyateh, 46, of 181 Courtland Street, on Broad Street for receiving stolen goods.

Following his arrest, Kuyateh was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned, and identified as a probation/bail violator.

He was then transported to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.
