MONTPELIER — A single-vehicle crash into a residential structure led to a DUI arrest early Monday morning, authorities reported.

Troopers from the Berlin Barracks were dispatched to County Road at 2:40 a.m. where they discovered a 2003 Hyundai Elantra with significant front-end damage.

The driver, Marc Amato, 37, of Waterbury, was wearing his seatbelt and did not sustain any injuries.

Upon evaluation, Amato showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody under suspicion of driving under the influence.

He was then transported to the Montpelier Police Department for processing.

After the processing, Amato was released to a sober adult and issued a citation to appear in the Washington County Superior Court – Criminal Division.
