Suspicious item at Cutler Park determined non-hazardous, Needham Police say

NEEDHAM — Authorities have given the all-clear at Cutler Park after a suspicious item prompted a temporary closure and emergency response Monday morning.

Needham Police Department had issued a local alert, advising residents to avoid the area near the park entrance off Kendrick Street as the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad was called in to investigate.

By noon, the Bomb Squad had assessed the situation and determined that the item was not hazardous.

The scene was declared secure, and all emergency personnel, including Needham Fire, have since cleared the area, allowing for normal activities to resume.

The park entrance had been closed to the public during the investigation.

Needham Police thanked the community for their cooperation and patience during the incident.
