BOSTON — The Boston Police Department is urging the public to assist in locating Elba Portillo, 61, of East Boston, who has been reported missing since the morning of Dec. 13.
Portillo was last observed around 9:30 a.m. on Friday, after she left her residence for work on Meridian Street but failed to arrive.
Her last known location was in the vicinity of Marion Street.
Portillo, who has a history of going missing and is known to frequent the waterfront areas in East Boston, is believed to be suffering from insomnia and possibly the early stages of dementia.
She is described as a Hispanic female, standing approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing around 140 pounds, with light skin, brown hair, and brown eyes.
When last seen, Portillo was wearing a black jacket, purple sweatpants, and was carrying a crossbody brown purse.
The Boston Police Department is asking anyone with information about Portillo’s whereabouts to contact 911 or the Area A-7 Detectives at 617-343-4234.
