WINDSOR LOCKS — Gunfire rang out Thursday night at a residence on South Elm Street, with law enforcement officials confirming a bullet struck the home in what appears to be an isolated incident.
The Windsor Locks Police Department received calls around 8:15 p.m. reporting sounds that could have been fireworks or gunshots at 242 S.
Elm St. Officers arrived at the scene and confirmed that shots had been fired and a residence was hit.
Authorities have not yet identified a suspect but noted that a dark SUV was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed heading southbound.
As of now, there have been no injuries reported, and the police believe there is no ongoing threat to the community.
Uniformed officers and detectives are currently working the crime scene.
