WATERBURY — A local man was cited for aggravated disorderly conduct and criminal threatening after an incident in a parking lot late Wednesday evening, Vermont State Police reported.

Authorities were called to 337 Industry St. around 9:51 p.m. following a complaint by Cote Griggs, 34, of Williamstown.

Griggs alleged that a group was trespassing on the property after hours.

Upon attempting to disperse the group, Griggs claimed that Righley Jones, 23, of Waterbury, became disorderly and threatened him with a jack handle.

Fearing for his safety, Griggs left and immediately contacted law enforcement.

Jones was apprehended and has been ordered to appear in the Orange County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Feb. 19 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charges.
