HOLYOKE — Following an extensive investigation, Holyoke Police Department Narcotics Bureau, along with the FBI Western Mass Gang Task Force, executed a search warrant Dec. 12 at a residence located at 79 Newton St., officials said.
The operation, which received significant support from the Chicopee Police, Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, and Hampden County Safe unit, led to the arrest of two individuals amid squalid living conditions, including lack of electricity and running water.
Luis Rodriguez, 48, was detained and faces multiple charges, including three active warrants, possession of Class A and Class B substances, intent to distribute Class A and Class B substances, and possession of ammunition without an FID card.
Ernie Muriel Pastrana, 45, was also arrested on similar drug charges including possession and intent to distribute Class A and Class B substances, along with ammunition possession without an FID card.
The code enforcement officer and the Board of Health have been engaged to assess the living conditions found at the property.
