FRAMINGHAM — A man accused of assaulting a police officer after a foot chase was taken into custody, authorities said Thursday.
The incident occurred on the evening of Dec. 11 when a patrol officer attempted to stop a stolen vehicle near 100 Concord Street, according to the Framingham Police Department.
The driver, identified as 28-year-old Manuel Teo of Marlborough, abandoned the car and fled on foot.
During the pursuit, Teo allegedly struck the officer in the head with an object before escaping.
The officer, who suffered a minor head injury, was later transported to MetroWest Medical Center and has since been released.
An investigation led to Teo’s arrest outside his residence with support from the Marlborough Police Department.
He faces charges including assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, and resisting arrest.
