BIDDEFORD — The Biddeford Police Department announced the death of Sergeant Jacob Wolterbeek following a tragic accident on the Piscataqua Bridge on Dec. 12 as he was returning home after his shift.
An 18-year veteran of the force, Wolterbeek was a respected member of the department, known for embodying the values of courage, honor, and integrity.
The sudden loss has left the community and his colleagues in mourning.
Chief of Police JoAnne W. Fisk expressed the department’s profound sadness and extended deepest condolences to his wife, three young children, and all who knew him.
The department is encouraging the community to honor Wolterbeek’s memory and service.
As the city’s employees join the police in their grief, the department has promised to provide details on the forthcoming services for Sergeant Wolterbeek as they become available.
