ROCKLAND — A 32-year-old Rockland man was arrested on multiple burglary and theft charges, according to the Rockland Police Department.
Clifford Dumont was taken into custody on Nov. 21 on three counts of felony burglary, one count of felony theft, one count of misdemeanor theft, three counts of misdemeanor criminal mischief, three counts of misdemeanor criminal trespass, and three counts misdemeanor violation of conditions of release.
Dumont was released the next day on unsecured bail with a Maine Pre-Trial Contract.
However, it was later discovered that Dumont had provided false information regarding his residence, which led to a violation of his bail conditions.
Rockland Police applied for and were granted a new warrant for Dumont’s arrest for this violation.
On Dec. 9, Rockland Police received a report of shoplifting at a local retailer.
After reviewing surveillance footage, officers identified Dumont as the suspect.
On Dec. 10, police located and arrested Dumont on the outstanding warrant and additional charges of theft related to the shoplifting incident.
