NEW HAVEN — Police in New Haven are investigating a series of late-night shootings in The Hill neighborhood after reports of gunfire were confirmed by ballistic evidence found at the scene.
Authorities were first alerted to the incident at around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 when shots were fired near the intersection of Carlisle Street and Cedar Street.
New Haven Police Department (NHPD) officers responded swiftly but found no gunshot wound victims upon arrival.
In a startling turn of events, less than four hours later, at approximately 1:05 a.m. on Dec. 11, the alleged gunman, armed with a shotgun, returned to the same location to fire additional rounds.
Preliminary investigations suggest the involvement of a second shooter, who was captured on video firing at a black sedan that may have been operated by the first gunman.
The NHPD is reaching out to the public for assistance in identifying the gunmen involved in the incident.
