WICKFORD — Rhode Island State Police arrested two individuals on separate charges following investigations by troopers, including a case of bank fraud and a DUI incident, authorities announced Tuesday.

At 8:39 a.m., Troopers took 39-year-old Providence resident Tiara Porter into custody at the Wickford Barracks for allegedly committing bank fraud and writing fraudulent checks totaling over $1,500.

The arrest resulted from an investigation led by Trooper N. Palumbo and Porter’s subsequent decision to turn herself in.

Following her arrest, Porter was transported to the Third Division District Court, where she was identified as a probation violator.
