Providence man faces second reckless driving charge after DMV arrest

PROVIDENCE — Troopers from the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks arrested Harry Ruiz, 39, of Providence on Monday, Dec. 9, at 11:45 a.m. on charges of reckless driving and eluding police, marking his second offense, and driving with a suspended license for the fourth or subsequent time.

The arrest occurred after a barracks investigation led to Ruiz being apprehended at the Division of Motor Vehicles.

He was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and later transported to Sixth Division District Court for arraignment.

In a separate incident, on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 12:29 a.m., Brian Smith II, 32, of Central Falls, was arrested on Broad Street in Providence following a motor vehicle stop.

Smith II faces charges of domestic violence-related vandalism and disorderly conduct pursuant to an arrest warrant from the Central Falls Police Department.

He was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and handed over to Central Falls authorities.

Additionally, on the same day at 12:45 a.m., Michael Guerrero, 35, of Providence, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor with an unknown blood alcohol concentration and refusal to submit to a chemical test, marking his first offense.

The arrest was the result of a traffic stop on Spruce Street in Providence.

Guerrero was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and released to a responsible adult.
