Gunshots at Holbrook apartment complex leave man critically injured

HOLBROOK — A man in his mid-40s was critically wounded in a shooting at an apartment complex in Holbrook on Wednesday evening, police said.

The Holbrook Police Department responded to reports of gunshots at the Ramblewood apartments, located at 110 Longmeadow Drive, at approximately 5:17 p.m. on Dec. 6.

Officers found a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds on the ground behind one of the units.

The victim was transported to a Boston hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The Holbrook Police Department, Massachusetts State Police Homicide Unit from the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, and the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Unit are jointly investigating the incident.

Authorities are actively pursuing leads and say they do not believe there is any current danger to the public.

Police Chief William J. Smith stated, “Investigators are working around the clock, following up on every lead until the perpetrator is brought into custody. Every available resource is being used to bring this investigation to a close.”
