Boston police seek suspect in Dorchester aggravated assault

BOSTON — Boston police are seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect involved in an aggravated assault in the Dorchester neighborhood.

The incident occurred between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, near 5 Dewey St., according to detectives from District B-2 in Roxbury.

Police say the suspect brandished a knife and box cutter after being confronted about stealing packages.

The same individual was reportedly seen taking packages around 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, near 3 Beauford Lane.

Authorities report the suspect has been spotted in the vicinity of Dewey Street, Holborn Street and Kavanaugh Way.

The Boston Police Department is investigating the incidents and urges anyone with information to contact District B-2 detectives at 617-343-4275.

The department assures that all anonymous tips will be kept confidential.
