Pawtucket man arrested for DUI and hit and run, another for cocaine possession

PAWTUCKET — Rhode Island State Troopers apprehended two Pawtucket men in separate incidents over the weekend, one for a hit and run while under the influence and another for cocaine possession.

Adenario Pereira, 29, was arrested on Dec. 8 at 5:31 p.m. following an investigation into a hit and run accident on Route 95 North.

Pereira is charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor/drugs with an unknown blood alcohol concentration, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and leaving the scene of an accident with damage to an attended vehicle.

He was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and subsequently released to a responsible adult.

In a separate incident on Dec. 9 at 12:36 a.m., Rodney Outland, 50, was arrested during a motor vehicle stop on Pine Street.

Outland faces charges of possession of a Schedule I to V controlled substance, specifically cocaine, amounting to 10 grams or less.

Following processing at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, Outland was held overnight and is expected to face arraignment as a probation violator at the Sixth Division District Court.
