ST. JOHNSBURY — A Maine man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and negligent operation of a vehicle after Vermont State Police observed erratic driving behavior on I-91 South near St. Johnsbury, officials said.

Mafumba Seni, 43, of Lewiston, Maine, was taken into custody Sunday after troopers responded to reports of a vehicle failing to maintain its lane, fluctuating speeds, and operating erratically on US-2 in Danville.

They located Seni’s vehicle traveling south between Exits 20 and 19 on I-91 and conducted a traffic stop at Exit 19.

Troopers observed signs of impairment during their interaction with Seni and conducted field sobriety tests, which suggested further indicators of impairment.

Seni was arrested and taken to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.

He is scheduled to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on Dec. 9 at 12:30 p.m.

Following his arrest, Seni was held at the Northeast Correctional Complex with bail set at $200.
