RUTLAND — A local woman was cited for disorderly conduct after causing a disturbance at a West Rutland post office early Thursday morning.
State Police responded to a call at the post office located at 66 Westway Mall at approximately 6:59 a.m. where they found Elizabeth Bowen, 30, of Rutland, visibly intoxicated and causing a commotion.
Authorities reported that Bowen’s behavior was disruptive enough to pose a danger to herself.
During the arrest, Bowen attempted to assault a trooper, further escalating the situation.
Following the incident, Bowen was transported by the Regional Ambulance Service to Rutland Regional Medical Center to address her condition.
Bowen is scheduled to appear in Rutland Superior Court on Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. to respond to the disorderly conduct charge.
