PORTSMOUTH — Two Massachusetts residents were taken into custody after New Hampshire State Police found drugs believed to be fentanyl and crack cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 95.

On Nov. 29, officials from the State Police Narcotics Investigations Unit arrested Raymundo DeJesus, 43, and Andres Carpio, 33, both of Haverhill, Massachusetts, for possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.

The arrests occurred after DeJesus allegedly threw bags of drugs from the vehicle while being pulled over for speeding.

Investigators seized over 200 grams each of fentanyl and crack cocaine.

The incident, including the disposal of the narcotics, was recorded on a trooper’s dash camera.

DeJesus faces an additional charge of falsifying physical evidence.

Both men were released on personal recognizance and are scheduled for arraignment on Jan. 27 in Portsmouth District Court.

The investigation remains active, and authorities suggest that further charges may be pending.
