Teen arrested in South Boston shooting

BOSTON — A 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged in connection with a shooting in South Boston that left a woman injured, police said Wednesday.

The shooting occurred around 8:06 p.m. on Dec. 3, when officers from District C-6 responded to a report of a person shot at 8 Reverend Richard A.

Burke Street, according to the Boston Police Department.

An adult female victim was found with a gunshot wound.

Police provided medical aid until Boston EMS arrived and transported her to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers also recovered ballistic evidence at the scene.

Following an investigation, police issued a description of the suspect.

The Youth Violence Strike Force located the suspect near North Point Drive and Westwind Road.

The juvenile male, whose name has not been released due to his age, faces multiple charges including assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon (firearm), assault by means of a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.

He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
