RUTLAND — A 36-year-old man from Bennington is on the run with five outstanding warrants, following a police pursuit that spanned several jurisdictions, Rutland Police Department reported today.

Stephen Martin is accused of fleeing from a motor vehicle collision in Gardner in February and led police on a chase through Westminster, Hubbardston, Holden, and Rutland.

It was later discovered that Martin was driving without a license and had an existing warrant from an incident in the Berkshires in 2010.

After his arrest and arraignment at East Brookfield District Court, Martin was released on personal recognizance but failed to appear for his subsequent court date.

The warrants for his arrest have been issued by Rutland PD, Hubbardston PD, Gardner PD, Westminster PD, and Massachusetts State Police Troop B.

Authorities urge anyone with information on Martin’s whereabouts to contact Rutland PD at 508-886-4033, their local police department, or email Detective DeSousa at [email protected].
