EAST GREENWICH — A 57-year-old East Greenwich woman was arrested early Saturday morning after a traffic stop led to charges including driving under the influence and weapons possession, according to the Rhode Island State Police.
Troopers stationed at the Hope Valley Barracks apprehended Valarie Cochran of 1472 South County Trail following a vehicle stop on Quaker Lane in East Greenwich.
Cochran is facing charges of driving under the influence of liquor with a blood alcohol content of .15 or greater on her first offense, with tests revealing BAC levels of 0.170% and 0.167% during Phase I and Phase II respectively.
In addition to the DUI charge, Cochran is also facing charges for possession of prohibited weapons, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
The arrest occurred at approximately 1:38 a.m.
After the stop, Cochran was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks for processing.
She was held overnight and is expected to be arraigned at the Third Division District Court later this morning.
