MADISON — A local man has been arrested on multiple charges including aggravated felonious sexual assault, authorities said Monday.
The Madison Police Department reported that 67-year-old Stephen Thomas of Madison was taken into custody on Nov. 27 following an investigation into allegations that he sexually assaulted a girl under the age of 13.
Thomas faces one count of aggravated felonious sexual assault, two counts of felonious sexual assault, two counts of transmitting lewd images, and one count of witness tampering.
Thomas is currently held in preventative detention at the Carroll County House of Corrections.
The investigation began after police received a report on Nov. 8 alleging the sexual assaults.
