Killington man arrested on multiple warrants, charged with impeding officers

KILLINGTON — A Connecticut man was arrested on outstanding warrants and charged with impeding public officers after a disturbance in Killington on Dec. 2.

Vermont State Police responded to the incident at approximately 8:02 p.m. and identified the accused as Richard Meinzer, 34, from Glastonbury, Connecticut.

Meinzer had two active arrest warrants in Vermont.

When troopers made contact with Meinzer through the window of his residence, he refused to exit and attempted to prevent his arrest.

Authorities eventually entered the residence and detained Meinzer without further incident.

The two warrants for Meinzer carried bails of $10,000 and $200, respectively.

Following the latest incident, a judge set an additional bail at $25,000 and imposed conditions of release.

Meinzer was transported to Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility and is scheduled to appear in Rutland Criminal Court to face the charges.
