Fatal crash in Enosburg claims life of elderly driver

ENOSBURG — A fatal motor vehicle crash occurred on Stonehouse Rd. near Hayes Farm Rd. at 10:09 a.m., claiming the life of an 86-year-old Middlebury resident.

According to Vermont State Police, the snowy and icy road conditions contributed to the crash.

The driver, whose name has not been released pending next of kin notification, was operating a 2022 Ford F-350 when the vehicle struck a telephone pole, resulting in total destruction of the front end.

Emergency responders from Enosburgh Ambulance Service transported the operator to Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

The individual was later moved to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, where they later died from their injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

State Police are calling for witnesses or anyone with information related to the incident to contact the St. Albans Barracks at 802-524-5993.
