ST. JOHNSBURY — Vermont State Police took 48-year-old Joseph Tanner into custody on Dec. 1 after identifying him as the subject of an outstanding warrant.
Troopers were patrolling the area near 430 Railroad Street at 5:26 p.m. when they recognized Tanner, who was known to have an active warrant for his arrest.
Upon confirming his identity, Tanner was detained without incident.
The investigation disclosed that Tanner was wanted on several charges: two counts of first-offense DUI, three counts of first-offense driving with a suspended license due to DUI, one count of driving with a suspended license/OSC, two counts of third-offense driving with a suspended license due to DUI, and four counts of violating conditions of release.
Tanner has been cited to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on Monday, Dec. 2, at 12:30 p.m. Following the arrest, he was transported to Northeast Correctional Complex and is being held on $50 bail.
