SPRINGFIELD — A local man has been cited for escape after allegedly violating the terms of his furlough, according to a Springfield Police Department press release.

Jared Stockman was found to have breached his furlough conditions, as reported by Springfield Probation and Parole on Nov. 8.

Following the discovery, police located Stockman at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility, where he was already incarcerated for an unrelated matter.

Officer Woodell, who is leading the investigation, confirmed that Stockman was issued a citation on Nov. 12 at 11 a.m.

He is scheduled to appear at Windsor Superior Court on Jan. 21 at 8:30 a.m. to face the escape charge.

The police department has emphasized that they do not have jurisdiction over bail decisions or incarceration, as these are managed by the judicial system, which includes judges, court clerks, and the state attorney’s office.
