CONCORD — A Bow man was arrested early this morning after driving the wrong way on two interstates and causing a crash, according to the New Hampshire State Police.
At 12:37 a.m. today, Dec. 1, police received multiple calls about a driver heading northbound in the southbound lanes of Interstate 293 near mile marker 7.4 in Manchester.
The driver continued on the wrong side of the road onto Interstate 93 in Hooksett, prompting further calls to authorities.
A crash occurred south of the Hooksett tolls when another motorist swerved to avoid a head-on collision with the wrong-way driver, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries.
State Trooper Joshua Farmer from the Troop D barracks ultimately stopped the wrong-way driver on I-93 in Concord.
The driver, identified as 49-year-old Brian Kunst of Bow, was taken into custody following a roadside investigation.
Kunst faces charges of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and driving while intoxicated.
He was detained at the Merrimack County Department of Corrections and is scheduled to appear in Concord District Court on Dec. 2.
