Two arrested in Cavendish domestic assault case

CAVENDISH — Vermont State Police arrested two brothers following a domestic assault incident on High Street late Saturday night.

Troopers from the Westminster Barracks responded around 9:26 p.m. to a report of a physical altercation at a residence.

The investigation revealed that 31-year-old Kevin Austin had assaulted a 26-year-old family member and then fled to an address in Ludlow.

Police located and apprehended Kevin Austin, charging him with aggravated domestic assault.

During the investigation, authorities discovered that another individual at the Cavendish address, 26-year-old Jacob Austin, had an active arrest warrant.

Jacob Austin was subsequently arrested and transported to Southern State Correctional Facility.

The Vermont State Police have not released the name of the victim, adhering to policies regarding the privacy of victims of domestic violence.
