RANDOLPH — Vermont State Police responded to a single-vehicle accident on VT Route 66 near I-89 Exit 4 early on Nov. 28, where they found a Toyota Rav4 off the roadway and its driver, Hailie R.
Lord, 23, of Bethel, showing signs of impairment.
Troopers were alerted to the crash at 2:05 a.m. by passing motorists.
Upon arrival, they discovered the 2018 Rav4 and attended to Lord.
The condition of Lord, who was treated at Gifford Medical Center, was not confirmed, but injuries are suspected to be minor.
The status of her seatbelt use at the time of the crash is unknown.
During the investigation, troopers noted indications of impairment in Lord’s behavior.
She was subsequently cited for DUI, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Negligent Operation.
Lord is scheduled to appear in the Orange County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Jan. 22 to face these charges.
Traffic was not significantly impacted as the road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the incident.
The vehicle sustained minor damage.
State Police are continuing their investigation into the crash.
