Two face charges after traffic stop in Glover

GLOVER — Two Coventry residents were apprehended late Friday night after Vermont State Police caught a vehicle speeding at 100 mph in a 65 mph zone on Interstate 91.

At approximately 11:10 p.m., troopers patrolling the interstate initiated a traffic stop.

The driver, identified as 41-year-old Melissa Ofsuryk, was found to be operating the vehicle with a criminally suspended license.

Further investigation during the stop revealed her passenger, 43-year-old Shane Lontine, had an active arrest warrant.

Lontine was taken into custody without incident and transported to Northern State Correctional Facility.

Ofsuryk was released with a citation to appear in court to face charges for excessive speeding and driving with a suspended license.

The Vermont State Police have not provided further details on the court date or the nature of Lontine’s warrant at this time.
