Cranston arrests involve assault on officer, fugitives from justice

CRANSTON — A series of arrests by the ACI Investigations Unit on Nov. 27 led to multiple individuals facing charges including assault on a correctional officer and fugitive from justice.

Edward Akinrinlola, 36, of Howard Avenue, was arrested and charged with assault on a correctional officer.

Arraigned in Third Division District Court, Akinrinlola was recognized as a Superior Court violator and was granted $5,000 surety bail.

In a separate incident, Arney Hepburn, 40, of Pershing Street, was detained as a Fugitive of Justice from Massachusetts.

During his arraignment in the same court, Hepburn waived extradition proceedings and was ordered to be held at the ACI until his return to Massachusetts.

Jamie Nelson, 35, from Leander Street, Providence, also faced charges similar to Akinrinlola’s for assaulting a correctional officer.

Following her arraignment, Nelson received a $5,000 surety bail as a Superior Court violator.

Additionally, Corey Derosiers, 39, of Wiccoppe Avenue, South Attleboro, Massachusetts, was arrested for being a fugitive from justice from his home state.

After waiving extradition in Third Division District Court, Derosiers was ordered held at the ACI pending his extradition to Massachusetts.
