BARNSTABLE — A 39-year-old Marstons Mills woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon after allegedly threatening two teenagers with what appeared to be a pistol as they played golf at the Olde Barnstable Fairgrounds.

According to the Barnstable Police Department, officers responded around 3:38 p.m. to reports of a woman brandishing a firearm at the young golfers.

The teens claimed that the woman emerged from the woods, accusing them of trespassing in her yard.

Despite their insistence that they were on the golf course, the woman allegedly presented and waved a black pistol at them.

After the incident was reported, law enforcement officials closed a section of Race Lane and initiated a search.

The investigation led officers to the residence of Chrystal Lawson, who was identified as the suspect.

Lawson was apprehended after she exited her home peacefully.

A search of Lawson’s residence uncovered two rubber guns and a replica pistol magazine.

She was booked at the Barnstable Police Department on two counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon, specifically a firearm.

Lawson was released on personal recognizance by the bail commissioner and is slated for arraignment in Barnstable District Court on Friday, Nov. 29.
